The 10 Commandments Truck/Trailer/Float
This is the "10 Commandment Truck/Trailer/Float" that we entered in the Monmouth/Independence "Western Days"
4th of July
Parade that won a 1st Place Ribbon for the "Most Effort" category and a 3rd Place Ribbon for the
"Over-all" category. There is a
custom, individually hand-crafted 10 Commandment display on each side
of our truck and then we have 7' tall x 3'-6" wide versions
of these tablets (mounted on aluminum) on both
sides of the "Trailer/Float".
We have about 50 various quotes from our Founding Fathers distributed around the 10 Commandment displays; these quotes
are
fascinating reminders just how much our Founding Fathers valued Christianity. Please go to the "wallbuilders.com"
website
to see many other wonderful and eye-opening quotes from our Founding Fathers that have been collected by David
Barton and
his associates. Thank you David Barton and your wonderful "American Heritage" video series
that proves beyond a shadow of doubt
just how much our Founding Fathers valued Christianity and actually used the Bible
and Scripture to fashion and construct our Declaration
of Independence and our very Constitution!
These large, 7' tall x 3'-6" wide tablets are full-color digital photographs of the actual engraved and hand-crafted
tablets
that we use for the 42 1/2" square displays that are framed in oak. These large versions of the tablets are
made
out of a 1/4" thick "Alumalite" material that is a very rigid and light-weight composite of aluminum on both
sides
with the center consisting of a thermoplastic core, making these large panels very stable and long-lasting (warp-free
and
able to be used in exterior applications for many, many years, maintenance-free). We'd be happy to supply
you with these
large versions of the 10 Commandments for your Church, business, function, application or ???
The letters that comprise "The Ten Commandments" are a combination of cut-out black plastic (1/8" thick)
with cut-out, polished "gold"
aluminum faces. This "gold" aluminum is exterior-proof and can
be cleaned, polished, etc., to be an "eye-catcher" for many years.
We'd be happy to supply you with this
dimensional sign to be placed above the 2 tablets! The sign panel on which these letters
are fastened is an exterior
wood sign panel (3/4" thick) that has been painted with enamel in a 2-tone "tan" color, with a black and red
edge-treatment.
Here I am pointing to the 2 ribbons the "10 Commandments Truck/Trailer/Float" won at the Monmouth/Independence
"Western
Days" 4th of July Parade. This is the "staging" area for all of the participants
in the Parade; my 2 new "Uncle Sam friends" who
were on another float are standing to the left. You
can see part of the VBS Float ("Vacation Bible School") just ahead of our entry
that my Calvary Chapel Church
in Monmouth/Independence built and sponsored (it won 1st Place in the "over-all" category). During
the
actual parade, I rode on the "trailer", waving to everyone, while my Pastor (Pastor Rick Hopkins) drove the "10
Commandments
Truck". This 4th of July Parade was one of the most enjoyable events of my life! As the
"10 Commandments Truck/Trailer/Float"
drove down Monmouth Street in the actual parade, there was actually
applause when the 10 Commandments came by! Our country
still has real Christians in it, but we need many, many
more than we now have! As Billy Graham is famous for saying, "If God doesn't
judge America, He will have
to apologize to Sodom and Gomorrah"............I do agree with that statement (do you?).
Above is one of the 50 quotes of our Founding Fathers that are distributed around the 10 Commandments displays on the Truck
and
Trailer/Float. Please go to "wallbuilders.com" and see many, many more fascinating and eye-opening quotes
of our Founding
Fathers that David Barton and the "American Heritage" video series is now making America aware
of. Thanks again, David Barton!
I was able to chat with many people while at the "staging" area, waiting for the parade to start; all of the
comments were very positive,
including a few that were quite moving. One nice lady made the comment "Brilliant......brilliant........connecting
the words of our Founding
Fathers with the 10 Commandments! When I first saw this display in the staging area,
I almost started to cry!". Another nice lady, pushing
a stroller and baby, with another 5 year-old in hand
said "Thank you for this float.......we do need to be reminded of this!". Another nice
man, when he
discovered that the "10 Commandments Truck/Trailer/Float" won 3rd place over-all, actually complained that "it
should have
won 1st place!" Well, it did win 1st Place in the "most effort" category!
We plan to park the "10 Commandments Truck/Trailer/Float" at various sites and locations all over Oregon to help
Oregonians be
reminded of our Christian Heritage (then, perhaps it will go all over America......if God wants it to).
If you would be interested in having
us park it at your Church, business, function, etc., please let us know!
And, if you'd be interested in helping us be able to afford to have
a booth and park the "10 Commandments
Truck/Trailer/Float" at the up-coming Oregon State Fair in August, please contact us!
Thank you and God
Bless!
